Streaming giant Netflix has decided to team up with the Microsoft team and offer subscribers a cheaper plan with the option to view ads.

Users will now have an option to pay a cheaper subscription if they watch some adverts.
The Netflix Team said that there will be an addon to existing subscriptions that do not include adverts.
They have not yet said how much the subscription will cost with the advertising on.
This news came after Netflix reported their first subscriber loss in more than 10 years and they even had to cut a few hundred jobs earlier this year.
The aproximate number of total subscriptions lost was around 200.000 users between the month of January 2022 and March 2022.
In April 2022 the streaming giant Netflix saw over 60 billion $ being wiped off its market value after they announced their fall in subscriptions.


The Netflix team hopes that by introducing ads for lower price they will attract new subscribers and get their numbers back up.
They had meetings with Warner Bros and Universal Studios and even Sony Pictures Television regarding ads.
Microsoft has the ability to support all the advertising needed for Netflix and to add even more Microsoft offered to innovate on both technology and sales side as well as adding strong privacy protection for subscribers to help Netflix progres even more.

During the Covid19 pandemic, people that got stuck at home started to use Netflix more but recently with the cost of living and inflation going up more people are looking at where to save so they chose to cut down on Netflix subscriptions since it was too much.

Since Netflix has a big competition from Amazon Prime, HBO Max and Disney+ they had to think outside the box for other options for their subscribers.
